WHO WE ARE
We are a circular technology collective grounded in the belief that technology consumption is an environmental justice issue. We are a group of artists, designers, and community organisers who refuse to accept the extractive, disposable technology paradigm that our lives depend on. We are committed to nurturing something different.
HOW WE THINK
We believe that the way we live with technology is not inevitable; it is designed. Devices are engineered to break. Waste is exported to communities that did not generate it. Data is extracted from people who never consented to becoming a product. These are our current circuits, the consequences of a system that prioritises profit over people and the planet.
We have a vision for a world where technology serves both. Where devices are repaired rather than discarded. Where communities govern the infrastructures they depend on. Where the circuits we live within are defined not by corporate logics but by collective desire.
We move toward that world slowly and deliberately by radically rehearsing the relationships we want. By slowing down, we will be able to the connections involved in our current circuits and begin to repair them into the circuits we desire.
WHAT WE DO
We partner with community-based organisations to establish libraries of refurbished technology where residents can rent, repair, and recycle their devices in one place. Alongside our libraries, we develop community education on technology relationality, repair, reuse, electronic waste, and digital infrastructure. We work at neighbourhood scale, co-designing circular technology commons that centre repair and collective ownership.
HOW WE WORK
Technology has a long history of arriving in neighborhoods with little consultation, often carrying embedded assumptions about value, efficiency, and progress. We aim to work against this pattern by taking a desire-led approach, co-designing alongside community members based on existing knowledge and desires.
OUR FOCUS
We work at the intersection of ecological accountability, collective ownership, and community-led design, developing alternative technology infrastructures that are circular, local, and grounded in the desires of the communities we work with.
